As I look back on my experiences and education, it's as though I've been sub consciously preparing for a career in real estate for the better part of my life. I began working in and learning the construction business, specifically the flooring industry, before finishing high school. After graduating, throughout college, and over the next 20 years, I've perfected the trade of selling and installing flooring in both commercial and residential settings as well as the estimation and project management aspects of the industry. In addition, I've acquired a very good working knowledge of most trades involved in commercial and residential construction.
I attended Indiana University of Pennsylvania and earned a Bachelor's degree in International Studies/Political Science. After graduating, I went to work for the Department of Homeland Security, specifically the Transportation and Security Administration not long after its inception, at the Orlando International Airport. The customer service skills that I cultivated were further honed during my time working directly with and assisting the traveling public to navigate the enhanced security protocols that were mandated in the early 2000's.
I worked for an Intellectual Property law firm processing patent applications, which required a great deal of research and the ability to compile the supporting information in a concise and efficient manner. This experience enabled me to become comfortable with the terminology used in legal documents. In addition, the need to maintain strict attention to detail was absolutely required.
